The day following the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Japanese unleash surprise air attacks on US air bases in the Philippines which destroy most US airpower in the area. Shortly after the air attacks, Japanese forces land at multiple points on the Philippines and quickly overwhelm US and Philippine resistance.
